Description
Should be applied to clean and dry surfaces and when used outside when rain is not likely to fall within 2 hours of application. Is suitable for use in general flat roofing applications. For normal use, the application of CrysticROOF Standard Topcoat should be controlled to 0.4 – 0.5 mm (0.015 – 0.020 inch) wet film thickness. As a guide, approximately 650-800 g/m2 of topcoat mixture (depending on pigment) will give the required thickness when evenly applied.
Topcoat should be at, or above, 15ºC before curing is carried out. Lower temperatures will lengthen the cure time considerably. Stir well by hand, or with a low shear mixer to avoid aeration, and then allow to stand to regain thixotropy. CrysticROOF Standard Topcoat requires only the addition of a catalyst to start the curing reaction. The recommended catalyst is Scott Bader Catalyst M or (Baycat S50), which should be added at 2% into the topcoat. should be stored in the dark in suitable closed containers. It is recommended that the storage temperature should be less than 20ºC where practical, but should not exceed 30ºC. Ideally, containers should be opened only immediately prior to use. Where they have to be stored outside, it is recommended that they are kept in a horizontal position to avoid the possible ingress of water.
